"Great instrument!"

Feature:
Great set of features - 64 note polyphony (which is essential for piano playing in my opinion - I don't understand the huge number of "digital Pianos" with only 32-note polyphony)! The Casio (I hate to keep picking on it, but it's true) advertises 32 note polyphony, but for the stereo piano sample, the actual polyphony is only 16!! WAY too low for any serious player! This one won't cut out on you. You can set the pedals for something like 10 different functions, such as volume, effect on/off, sostenuto, soft, damper, program select, etc. Very useful to have the expression pedal to control volume with the organ (you could even rig up another pedal to control the leslie effect on/off). The controls are simple, and easy to get used to. The GM sounds are a nice addition, and in the end you get something like 300 different sounds from this thing - great for a digital piano! And they're not bad sounds, either!

Quality:
Never had a Roland go bad on me - I swear by their gear. Solidly built, well-designed, and always very reasonbly priced! A lot of people like Yamaha for digital pianos, but I've always preferred the tones, features and lay-out of Roland's instruments!

Value:
Best digital piano in its price-range, no question!

Sound:
Piano sound is great! Bright enough to cut through a band mix, but mellow enough to still sound warm and full! And the EQ allows you to really adjust the sound to your liking - it's a long, complicated process to tweak it, but you can really get the sounds right where you want them with a little patience! The Fender sound, to my ear, is also wonderful! And the organ, while not superb, is better than any sample on any comparably priced keyboard. I tried the Casio PX310 - worst organ sample I've ever heard - sounded like a toy. This organ allows volume control with a foot pedal, has a leslie effect, and a good basic tone!

Ease of Use:
Very easy to use!

Support:
Never had to use support, so I have no idea. The general consensus seems to be that they haven't got much in the way of support. But hey, I'll take quality and no support over cheap with good support any day!

Overall:
Has everything I need for home, gigs, and recording. Will be with me for at least the next ten years.

Roland FP-2 Piano Customer Review

Feature:
Personally I was pleasantly suprised as the session facility - which allows you to play along with about 70 pre-recorded backing tracks in a variety of styles. These include chord progressions, the display of the piano telling you when it changes - a nice feature. It also has a two track recorder thingy and a metronome. You couldn't expect anything more given the product and it's price.

Quality:
Will find out when we've gigged it for a bit. Although it's lightweight (which makes it very attractive for protability) it seems sturdy enough. Roland gives it a three year warrenty , so they must be confident ...

Value:
Considering the sounds and the features I think it's great for the money - I've previously owned a yamaha p80 and consider this to be better VFM. UK users should head to pianosale.co.uk where the FP2 can be picked up currently for
