Finger style "Somewhere Over the rainbow" Lesson
- guitar lessons provided by Kirk Lorange
A beautiful tune we all know, finger style. The midi files are generated from the tablature program I use, so what you see is what you hear.
I've tried to keep the arrangement as simple and clear as possible, but of course it can be embellished in many ways. It's in the key of G, and you'll see it stays pretty much within the key, using just about all the related chords, until that one passage at the end of the bridge, or whatever that second part is called. That F# to Bb dim really grabs the ear, really makes you sit up and listen, as it moves right away from the tonality of G. The tune re-enters the key via the iii chord, the Am.
Hand position is important, to get the best attack on the strings. The wrist should have quite a bend... see
